Background
To enhance communication within the school, between schools, and with the community, schools are required to develop school handbooks and update annually. Wherever possible, schools should restrict the paper copies to brief outlines of essential information, with more detail provided in the copy available on the school website.
Procedures
The website locations of the handbooks shall be the same on every school website, accessible directly from the home page.
School handbooks shall contain no information or regulations that are in contravention or contradiction of Grasslands School Division policy.
Handbooks shall be updated annually.
A school handbook shall be made available to each family at each school within two weeks of the commencement of the school year.
Each school principal shall send a weblink to the updated handbook to the Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services by the beginning of September each year.
Handbooks shall contain the information outlined in the attached Appendix. Schools will add information as they deem necessary to the handbook that is posted on the school website.
