Section Two: School Board Operations
Effective Date: October 5, 2015 Last Reviewed: August 23, 2021

Background

As per Grasslands School Division Policy 710, the superintendent shall: Develop, keep current, and circulate a manual of administrative procedures.

In Grasslands School Division the development, review and revision of Administrative Procedures, occurs through a consultative process involving all directly affected stakeholders under the supervision of the superintendent.

Procedures

  1. Administrative procedures will be reviewed regularly by the superintendent to ensure that procedures are current, reflect division practice, and comply with Board Policy and applicable legislation.

  2. In addition to this process, a review of a specific administrative procedure may be initiated at any time by the superintendent in response to a formal request from a school council, a school administrator or an employee who is affected by the procedure.

  3. The superintendent shall determine the stakeholders directly impacted by an administrative procedure and ensure that there has been an opportunity for input.

  4. Administrative procedures will be brought to the Board as information and will be placed on the division website. Employees and school councils will be notified.

  5. As outlined in Policy 260, the Board may at any time determine that an Administrative Procedure should be a policy and direct that it be converted or re-written as Board Policy.
